The stock market has been in the midst of the summer doldrums. Things should pick up over the next week with Labor Day behind us. This week Non-Farm Payrolls may be the most important economic data of the month before the September FOMC meeting in which the Fed is set to cut rates for the first time since 2020.
There’s a lot coming up in September, starting this week. From seasonal biases flipping from very bullish to the two worst weeks of the year for the stock market, to key economic data that may shape the Fed’s rate path, the economy and the stock market’s trajectory.
I’ll share the things that are on my radar, not the least of which is the market’s recent lack of leadership in Q3, and where that leadership may emerge; Nvidia earnings and the potential fallout; what leading market signals I’m watching; how geopolitical risks could drastically alter the Fed’s rate cut path and which assets you have to have up on your screen for early warning, plus much more.
